Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Boss Games at adsbossgames.com ("the site", "we", "us"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law of your own country that cannot be waived by agreement.

1. What the site is

Boss Games is a free collection of browser games and written guides, provided for entertainment. There is no account to create, no purchase to make and no subscription. The games run in your browser on your own device.

2. No wagering, no prizes

Nothing on this site involves betting, wagering, entry fees, prizes or money of any kind, and no game may be played for stakes. Scores exist only on your own device. Any figure describing a typical score, a difficulty level or a completion time is an estimate from our own play testing, offered for interest and not as a verified record or a guarantee of any outcome.

3. Permitted use

You may play the games, read the guides, and link to any page here. You may quote a short passage with a visible credit and a working link back to the page you took it from.

You may not: republish our text or our game code as your own, whole or in part; frame the site or any game inside another page so that it appears to be someone else's; strip our attribution; sell or redistribute the site's content; use automated tools to scrape or mirror the site; or attempt to interfere with the site's operation, security or availability. You may not use the site to break any law that applies to you.

4. Intellectual property

The written guides, the page text, the layout, the stylesheet, the site name, the logo and the game implementations on this site are our own work and are protected by copyright. The rules of the classic games we implement are not owned by us and are not claimed by us: sliding-tile puzzles, number-placement puzzles, mine-clearing grids, snake, block-breaking and four-in-a-row are long established game concepts, and each implementation here was written from scratch for this site.

Where a game is commonly associated with a commercial product or a trademark, that trademark belongs to its owner, we use the generic description of the game rather than the brand, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any game publisher or toy manufacturer.

5. Things you send us

If you send us a bug report, a correction or a game suggestion, you allow us to use it to improve the site, including to fix, change or write about the thing you raised, without any obligation or payment. Please do not send us confidential information or anything you are not free to share. How we handle the personal data in a contact message is described in the privacy policy.

6. Advertising and third-party links

The site is funded by advertising, which is served by third parties. We do not control which advertisements appear, and their presence is not an endorsement. The guides may also link to external sites; we link because we think a page is useful, but we do not control it and are not responsible for its content, its accuracy or its privacy practices. Any dealing you have with an advertiser or a linked site is between you and them.

7. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove games, guides and features at any time, and we may take the site offline for maintenance or for good. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Because your scores and preferences are stored only in your browser, clearing your browser data, changing device or using private browsing will lose them, and we cannot restore them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be error free, that any game is free of defects, or that the guides are complete or accurate. Strategy advice is opinion based on play testing, and the games involve randomness, so no advice here guarantees a result.

Nothing on this site is medical, psychological, educational or professional advice. The reaction time test and the memory games are toys, not diagnostic instruments, and their output must not be used to assess anyone's health or ability.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the site, which is zero. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, in which case those exclusions do not apply to you.

10. Age

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you are a minor in your jurisdiction, use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. See the children's section of the privacy policy.

11. Termination

We may block access to the site from an address that abuses it, for example by attempting to overload it, scrape it in bulk or attack it. Since there are no accounts, this is a technical measure and not a contractual sanction.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the site's operator is established, and any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of that jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory protection you enjoy as a consumer in your country of residence. The operator's jurisdiction and full legal details are available on request through the contact page.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms: [email protected], or use the contact form.
