Privacy policy
This policy explains what Boss Games (adsbossgames.com) collects, what it does not, and what third parties can see when you play here. It is written to be read, not to be survived. If anything is unclear, ask us at [email protected].
1. The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account and we have no user database.
- Your scores, best times and theme choice are stored in your own browser, not on our server.
- If you use the contact form, we receive the details you type, by email, and use them only to reply.
- Our web server keeps standard technical logs, as every web server does.
- We intend to show advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising involves cookies and similar technologies set by third parties, and section 5 explains how to control them.
2. Data stored in your browser (local storage)
The games save a small amount of information using your browser's localStorage, under
keys that begin with bg:. That includes your best scores and times per game and
difficulty, whether you chose the light or dark theme, and whether you turned game sound on or off.
This data never leaves your device: it is
not transmitted to us, it is not attached to any identifier, and we cannot read it.
Because it lives in your browser, it is per-browser and per-device — your best time on a phone will not appear on a laptop. Clearing your browsing data, or using private browsing, removes it. You can inspect or delete it yourself at any time through your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data for this domain.
3. Information you send us
The contact form collects your name, your email address, the topic you selected and your message, and delivers them to our inbox by email. We use that information solely to understand and answer your message. We do not add you to a mailing list, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it with anyone except where we are legally required to.
The message that reaches us also includes the technical details a mail server normally carries: the IP address that submitted the form, your browser's user-agent string and the page you submitted from. That is there to help us reproduce bugs and to identify automated spam. We keep contact messages only as long as the conversation and any related bug fix are useful, and delete them afterwards. To have a message deleted sooner, ask.
To reduce automated spam, the form includes a hidden field that human visitors never see, and a simple per-IP submission limit stored temporarily on the server. Neither is used to profile you.
4. Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard access logs when a page or file is requested: IP address, date and time, the URL requested, the HTTP status, the referring page and the user-agent string. These logs exist for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing errors. They are not used to build profiles of visitors and they are rotated and discarded on the provider's normal schedule. Traffic to this site may also pass through a content delivery network, which processes the same categories of technical data in order to serve the page and to block attacks.
5. Advertising, Google AdSense and the DART cookie
We plan to fund hosting with advertising served by Google, including through the Google AdSense programme. The following applies whenever advertising is active on this site.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies — historically referred to as the DART cookie — enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes the advertising you see less specific to you.
- You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices, or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.com.
- Advertising partners may collect technical data such as your IP address, device and browser characteristics, and interactions with ads. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies; Google's is published at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- We have no access to, and no control over, the cookies set by advertising partners, and we cannot read them.
Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies — for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — advertising cookies are set only on the basis of the consent collected through the consent mechanism shown to visitors in those regions, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time using that same mechanism.
Advertising on this site will always be visually separated from the games. No advertisement will be placed inside a game board, where it could be mistaken for a tile, a button or a result, and no advertisement will block a game you came to play.
6. What we do not do
We do not use analytics that profile you across sites, we do not embed social network widgets or tracking pixels, we do not fingerprint your device, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information. The games load no third-party code: the stylesheet, the scripts and the icon all come from this domain. If that changes, this policy changes with it, and the date at the top will change too.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. This includes rights under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the United Kingdom's data protection regime, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA) and Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD, Law No. 13.709/2018).
In practice, the only personal information we hold is what you chose to send us through the contact form, plus server logs, so a request is usually answered quickly. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the time limit that applies to you, and in any case within thirty days. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that sense under the CCPA.
For advertising cookies set by third parties, the fastest route is the vendor's own controls listed in section 5, because those cookies belong to them and not to us.
8. Children
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent rules elsewhere. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, write to us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians should note that the games themselves require no registration and collect nothing.
9. International transfers
This site is served from hosting infrastructure and a content delivery network that may process requests outside your country, including in the United States. Advertising partners likewise operate internationally. Where personal data is transferred across borders, it is done under the legal mechanisms available to the provider concerned.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because there are no accounts and no stored player data on our side, the surface for a breach is small by design. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send passwords, payment details or other sensitive information through the contact form.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page and the "last updated" date at the top changes. Material changes — for example beginning to use a new category of third-party service — will be described here rather than made quietly.
